Racing this weekend are BriSCA F1, BriSCA F2 and the National Ministox, with Classic F1 Stock Cars on the Sunday Welcome to Skegness Raceway for our first ‘proper’ speedweekend of 2026. We have, of course, already had consecutive days of racing over both the Easter and May Day Bank Holidays. But on those occasions, only the visiting formulas stayed for both days whilst other domestic formulas raced on only one of the fixtures. This weekend we have the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, BriSCA F2 Stock Cars and National Ministox in action all weekend. And a novel extra for Sunday is the inclusion of the Heritage F1 Stock Cars to an already-packed programme of events. Over and above the normal activities for a weekend of Stock Car action, we have a couple of special events on offer this weekend. On Saturday, we once again pay tribute and remember the huge contribution to the stock car community and particularly the F1 Stock Car scene of Andrew Battye. The words are used often, but he was most certainly taken from us too soon and is greatly missed around the pits. His annual memorial event will be on the F1 Final on Saturday evening. Leaping forward to Sunday, the main event once again concerns the F1 Stock Cars who will race for their UK Open Championship. The ‘open’ element of this championship has fluctuated over the years but we certainly expect some visiting race teams from the Netherlands to take part and we also welcome Henri and Marielle from the promotional team at Raceway Venray to Skegness and for their support of the event. It is anticipated that the visiting drivers will mostly come from the south in the area of Venray as the drivers from North Holland and Friesland who race on both surfaces have a Sint Maarten fixture on Sunday on their doorstep. For the UK Championship we are indebted to our annual sponsors, the Kaleta family, who always put extra incentives into the pot for this race. This will be the second time the UK Open has run since we lost Eddie Kaleta and he’ll certainly be in our thoughts even more than usual as we get to the pinnacle of Sundays racing. The BriSCA F1 Stock Cars were here on Good Friday as their only Skegness appearance of 2026 before this weekend. It was a magical night of action with 326 Mark Sargent winning the first running of the Rod Sargent Memorial and he wasn’t the only yellow top in the winners circle with the heats going to 178 Richard Burt and 452 Josh Spiers. The lower grade successes continued with 399 Harry Clayton winning the Grand National from white, leaving only 318 Rob Speak to win the Consolation and save some face for the reds and superstars. I suspect the winners this weekend will come more often from the back of the field. And without doubt there will be more reds and superstars in attendance with the Good Friday meeting having quite a few absentees. The National Ministox make their second appearance at Skegness of this year having first raced with us at the mid-March fixture. 40 drivers competed at that meeting with 86 Rocco Shenton winning the first staging of the Michelle Oversby Memorial and then taking the chequered again in the Grand National. Rocco and 642 Alfie Smith were the only two drivers to show consistent form at this track in March with both having a win and always finishing in the top 5 of their races. The other winners on the day were 174 Finley Kew and 270 Sienna Moss but they entered the history books as ‘one-hit wonders’ for that particular day of racing. Saturday night is the annual Skegness Open Championship whilst Sunday is a National Championship qualifier. This weekend will be the fifth and sixth fixtures here in 2026 for the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars. Meeting four will have taken place over the May Day weekend after most of this programme was assembled, so we can only list three Final winners who have been 220 Freddie Hunter-Johnson, 560 Luke Wrench and 629 Euan Millar. And that sums up the F2 scene here very well. Three completely different drivers, with everything from zero F2 experience to many years of racing in the formula, and all from completely different parts of the UK. F2 racing here is hugely competitive, not particularly dominated by any individual drivers or a small number of regular winners and highly unpredictable. If we’ve not had a fourth different final winner at our 3rd May meeting, I will be amazed. Lastly, we are joined on Sunday only by the Heritage F1 Stock Cars. They have not been regular visitors to the Skegness oval in recent years so it will be good to see the classic stock cars stretching their legs around the track. Whilst not directly linked to each other, the veterans also have an event for us on Sunday morning as well which will help to set the scene for the racing later in the day. More details about that on the following pages. Live Stream available Click Here for Details PLEASE DON’T ARRIVE BEFORE THE TIME LISTED, It causes us issues with the local authorities.
